Wethersfield Driver's Ed students attended the Henry County Farm Bureau Driver's Education Program where they met with Henry County and State Police Officers talking about how to stay safe on the roads. They also got to meet local farmers in the Henry County area who talked about how to share the roads with farm equipment.

Parents,
Wethersfield and Annawan School Districts were made aware of a post on the non-school affiliated football barstool page that contained a series of pictures. This post was in reference to tomorrow’s football game and that it is “almost Friday.” Among the pictures was an old picture of a student holding a gun. Because of the picture, the post was reported to the police, the student that made the post has been identified, the post has been removed, and it has been determined that it was not intended as a threat to either school.
If you have children in your home that utilize social media, please take this as an opportunity to discuss with them what is appropriate and what is inappropriate to post on their platforms.
Thank you.
Dr. Brooks and Mr. Bryan

The Climate & Culture team at WHS has created a new initiative in which the high school staff nominates students for the Student of the Month. The nominations are based on the core value of the month. The core value for the month of August was courage - facing fears & standing up for what is right, even in the face of adversity. From those nominations, the staff voted for Noah Feltner (nominated by Mrs. Lay & Mrs. Garcia) to become our very first Student of the Month for August!
The WHS Athletic Department has a similar initiative in which students are nominated & one is chosen for the Positive Student-Athlete of the Month. The Positive Student-Athlete of the Month just doesn’t focus on the student making a positive contribution to their team - but to the school, community, their classrooms, the hallways, & more – anywhere that a positive attitude, light, or atmosphere is being started or spread. Natalie Nelson was chosen as our very first Positive Student-Athlete for the month of August!

Leah Franklin is our Kewanee Rotary Club student of the month for September. Congratulations!
