Sophomore English Midterm is here! Students created visuals showcasing their randomly selected character. They used their creativity with images, quotes, and symbols that captured the essence of each character and their role in the story “To Kill a Mockingbird.”


The AW Titans are travelling to Monmouth tonight to take on the Red Storm with a 7:00 pm kickoff tonight! Let's get out and support our Titans!


This morning 44 students attended the first K-Kids meeting of the school year. K-kids is a student-led service leadership program for elementary students run through our local Kiwanis club. K-kids coordinator is Ms. Evans. Kiwanis advisors are Renee Crabtree and Gaylene Gilbert.


Our new two-sided backdrop came in today and it looks great!



Students in Mrs. Townsend's elective class participated in a fruit and veggie lab! The fruit and veggie pizzas were delicious!

As part of their study of the human brain, the students in psychology had to model and label the parts of the brain. Some students took the classical approach by drawing and coloring. Others used methods such as 3D printing or using modeling clay to complete the project.


Freshman English students are diving into world literature and cultures for their mythology unit! Currently, they’re exploring and creating presentations on the nine Nordic realms, building background knowledge to prep for their next read, “The Beginning of Things.” They’re ready for epic tales and legendary adventures!


Our A-W Titans Softball team plays in the IESA Regional Championship game tonight v. West Central at 4:30 pm in Annawan! Come out and support our girls as they go after the championship.

Today, Mrs. DeKezel visited the junior high ELA classes and presented a social emotional learning (SEL) lesson about respect. Giving and receiving respect from others is important because it helps us to feel safe and to express ourselves. Mrs. DeKezel will be doing monthly lessons with the junior high students.


Mrs. Dana’s eighth grade students used candy to model chemical equations to help them see how to balance them.

Junior High Baseball will be playing in Alexis tonight versus United Junior High. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm.

Fourth grade recently read a book of poems written by kids called “The Best Part of Me.” Then students picked their best parts and wrote their own poems! If you're in WES, check out their poems and pictures on the first floor hallway between the restrooms.
