Noah Feltner created a pencil holder made out of walnut in Mr. Trill's class. Great job Noah!

Students in Mrs. Kegebein's class learned the process of Reductive Linocut. Students carved into a piece of linoleum to create a stamp. With each color printed, they removed more linoleum to allow the colors that were previously printed to show through. Check out their amazing work!

English 2 students completed an activity creating masks focusing on identity. This correlates to their novel Lord of the Flies. Students were given three choices and had to submit writing explaining the identity and their design choices. Students also used color theory to validate their decisions.

13 Wethersfield Band members are performing at the LTC concert tonight.

Mrs. Martinez's 1st grade class enjoyed donuts on Friday as their reward for winning "Geese Pride" during the month of January. Geese Pride is intentionally practiced every Friday as classes compete by showing school spirit. A winner is selected each week with the overall monthly winner earning a special incentive. The class that displays the most Geese Pride over the entire school year will earn class t-shirts. GO GEESE!

Ashley Oliver finished a desk in Mr. Trill's class. It has a solid oak top and stained to match the dresser she built first semester. Great job!

Don't forget it's hat day! All students can bring $1 to wear a hat today for FFA week!

Yesterday, the students from both sixth grade classes were able to test their Earthquake Safe Buildings that their teams had created with the supplies provided. They were anxious to see if their buildings would survive the earthquake and aftershocks.

Today, sixth graders in Mrs. Addis's class had their first day of Junior Achievement. Mrs. Renee Crabtree is their volunteer, and she did such a wonderful job! Students learned about businesses, products, services, profits, global matchups, and ethics.

To accompany the novel Night by Elie Wiesel, students are researching and creating presentations on non-Jewish groups and victims persecuted during the Holocaust. Although Jews were the main targeted group, hundreds of thousands of lives were destroyed because of the Nazi regime. Many of these groups did not receive acknowledgment of their suffering until years after 1945.
