Dear Wethersfield Community Members, I wanted to take a moment to personally share some news with you. After much thought and prayer, I have accepted a position to become the next Superintendent of Schools for Knoxville CUSD #202, beginning July 1, 2026. My resignation from Wethersfield will take effect on June 30, 2026. This was not an easy decision. Wethersfield has been a special place to serve. Together, we’ve accomplished great things—earning an Exemplary designations from the State, expanding the arts, creating new learning environments like the AR/VR lab, and tackling major facility improvements that will serve students for years to come. Just as importantly, we’ve built upon a culture rooted in kindness, teamwork, and pride—which makes this “One Block, One Flock” community feel like family. I want to sincerely thank our Board of Education for their trust and partnership, and our incredible administrators, teachers, and staff for your dedication to kids every single day. In particular, I have great confidence in Mr. Tyler Nichols and Mr. Kyle Dennison, whose leadership, character, and steady presence will help guide the district through this transition and continue to move Wethersfield forward. While I’m excited about returning to Knoxville, where my teaching career began nearly three decades ago, please know that Wethersfield will always hold a very special place in my heart. I am deeply grateful for the relationships, the trust, and the shared sense of purpose that define this community. Over the next several months, my focus remains squarely on finishing strong—supporting our students, staff, and district initiatives, and helping ensure a seamless leadership transition. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this journey with all of you. Dr. B.

Two WHS carpentry classes designed and constructed a six-sided bench for Midland Golf Course. The bench beautifully encircles the large flag near the first tee and showcases the students’ craftsmanship and attention to detail.

We wanted to let families know that Hand, Foot, and Mouth is going around right now in nearby communities and here in Kewanee.

If your child has been diagnosed with Hand, Foot, and Mouth, please keep them home until their blisters are drying up and they’ve been fever-free for at least 24 hours. While some doctor notes may say kids can come back once the fever is gone, please remember they can still be contagious for up to 10 days.

Since symptoms can look a little different for each child, feel free to reach out to the school nurse to talk through your child’s situation.

Thanks so much for helping us keep all of our students healthy and learning!
